October Events, Racing and HPDE Opportunities

In an effort to help you find the kinds of car events you want to go to, we’ve put together this list of all kinds of opportunities to watch some great racing, get on the track yourself or just immerse yourself in car culture.

Xtreme Xperience Super Car Driving Tours

What: “Enjoy spirited drives in a selection of supercars as you explore America’s best backroads. Our professional drivers guide each tour on curated routes in a lead vehicle as the entire group of supercars follows behind. Available as 15 to 300 mile-long tours and 500-1000 mile-long trips. Supercar Tours provide the opportunity to enjoy the essence of the supercar lifestyle, discover breathtaking scenic views and share a bucket-list experience with your passenger.”

For this event you can book either 130, 65 or a 40 mile tour. Car choices are either group A which is a Porsche 911 Targa 4 GTS and a C8 Corvette Stingray Z51 or a Lamborghini Huracan and Ferrari 488.

Where: Leaves from Atlanta Motorsports Park and drives through the Blue Ridge Mountains

When: October 15-30

Cost: $399 – $1299 depending on length of route

ExoFest

What: “Expect six sessions at twenty minutes each per group, rain or shine. Entry fee is $275. All makes and models welcome, all drivers welcome (18 and older)! all registered drivers will receive lunch, beverages, and complimentary wet skidpad access courtesy of Jzilla Track Days and Exomotive! Novice drivers will receive instruction from Jzilla Track Days instructors. All our instructors are MSF-certified and utilize the latest techniques”

Import Alliance

What: Import Alliance is in it’s 16th year bringing Atlanta one of the largest gatherings of imports anywhere. Expect a lot of street cars, lowered show cars, imported off roaders and much more. Drifting will take place both days as well as other competitions and things like car limbo contests that you won’t find elsewhere.

Where: Atlanta Motor Speedway (Hampton, GA)

When: October 23 and 24th

Cost: $27 -$30 depending on if you’re showing your car or want general admission. $90-$150 to drift. Please note: Tickets must be purchased online.

Chin TrackDays (HPDE):

What: “Our emphasis is on FUN and skill training, not racing. In our non-competition events, the gentleman and lady sports car driver can practice and learn new advanced driving techniques. Entry level drivers receive high-quality instruction on high-performance driving skills” “Our track event model is based on lower enrollment, fewer run groups, and more track time. Our trademark Chin format utilizes only 3 run groups”

You do have to have a membership for Chin but it’s only $50 for 12 months. Cost includes 3.5 hours of track time per day. Additional coaching is available for another $100.

Where: Road Atlanta and Barber

When: October 23 and 24th (Road Atlanta) and October 30 and 31st (Barber)

Cost: $650 ($150 for additional driver) for both days

Open Car Night

What: “Come join us at TGPR as we host Open Car Days (and Nights!) where we open up the raceway for anyone looking to drive their car on a safe, open track!  Bring your suped-up station wagon or your polished Porsche — these events are for all makes and models!  Grab a friend, grab your helmet, and put the pedal to the metal without fear of a traffic citation”

If you’re looking for a way to get maximum track time for minimum dollar, look no further than TGP, it may be a little bit of a drive from Atlanta and not as flashy as some of the other tracks but it’s absolutely a blast.

MBCA October Cars & Coffee

What: “You are invited to attend our FREE monthly MBCA Cars & Coffee! Our Cars & Coffee is open to ALL MERCEDES-BENZ MODELS.  Located at Halcyon, we have a beautiful venue and a private parking lot with wide spaces to show our cars and mingle with friends and members. Land of a Thousand Hills Coffee offers a special menu just for MBCA members featuring drinks such as the Classic SL drip coffee, S-Klasse Vanilla Machiatto, and the R107 Raspberry Latte. As well, the Mercedes-Benz Experience store offers 20% off merchandise at their store located across the street.”

Cost: Free

ChampCar

What: “ChampCar is the simplest path to real wheel to wheel racing.” It’s “for people like you that have always wanted to go road racing with out the hassles, huge rule book or obscene expense”

Race fans can volunteer, spectate or get in the action by checking out their “arrive and drive” opportunities

When: October 30th and 31st

Cost: Free for Spectators
