Spotlight: Meet Drag Racer Sasha Holley

We are excited for you guys to get to know the queen of the drag strip, Sasha Holley. This is a woman who has taken on significant challenges, made waves throughout her life, and continues to dedicate her time to making things around her better.

Out of Thomaston, GA, she is the only child of a car fanatic. Her dad was a mechanic, drag racer, and transmission builder right up until his passing in 2013. She was his right-hand girl, thrown right into the middle of all his automotive shenanigans, where she was shown and taught everything. She grew up where cars and motorsports were a way of life.

As a teenager, when she’d get in trouble, her dad would have her do tasks around the family shop as punishment. Imagine a teenage girl tearing down, cleaning, and checking valve bodies in a power glide transmission as a behavior correction. I don’t know about you, but that makes me rethink some of my own strategies for getting things done while helping my kids face their own boneheaded decisions.

She began racing in her backyard with a homemade Jr. dragster and later started doing exhibition runs at the track. Even when her dragster had to be sold so that her dad could scrape the funds together to replace the engine in his 1987 Monte Carlo race car, she found ways to race throughout her teenage and early adult years when she wasn’t working at one of her family’s various automotive businesses.

Her childhood racing friends are now all adult racing friends. Each one of them either still races/or has children who race. Sasha is no exception. Now that she has a family, shop, and other automotive businesses of her own, she is just as passionate about cars and racing as she always was.  All three of her children race as well. Her son Jordan has won at least 50+ races and was the NHRA Division 2 champion two years in a row. Her daughter Cazz quickly and easily picked up racing, winning several races between 6 and 8 years old before deciding to move on to new hobbies. Her third child, now 10 years old, is begging to start Jr. racing, so there may be some more family time at the drag strip with her in the near future.

Sasha herself was able to jump back into racing in 2021 when she started racing her 2021 Cadillac Escalade, 2021 Toyota Supra, 2021 BMW M3 Competition, and (the above pictured)2015 Chevy SS. She has raced locally and traveled to compete in various events, including Street Car Takeover, the Women and Wheels series, and her favorite event, Street Car Braggin’ Rights.

And she isn’t just participating; she is winning! She has made it to the semi-finals, was a runner-up, or won at every single Women and Wheels event she competed in. Behind the scenes, being able to do all of these things is far more challenging than Sasha made it look. For example,  in 2023, with a Women and Wheels class to compete in at the upcoming Street Car Takeover event, Sasha had to juggle bringing along a child she had no babysitter for and a very sick husband as they towed a race car 11 hours from Georgia to Ohio in order to compete. She promised her family that she would make it worth their while, and she absolutely did- taking home the overall win in her class.

Her daily life is spent running the automotive businesses she runs with her husband Trey, one of which is managing a repair shop (literally called “The Shop”). These guys aren’t afraid to tackle big projects and show kindness by offering repair financing to those who can’t afford unexpected car repairs. They also operate a used car dealership.

Sasha has no plans of living a simple life in a small town. She aims to share her faith journey with the car world by starting and hosting  Cars and Christ meets, serving as a traveling race announcer, and supporting other women in the automotive industry in a real and significant way.

She loves being a female in what is considered a man’s world and has a fantastic community of other enthusiasts that she wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. Meeting like minded people, regardless of their background or gender, keeps her fired up; especially since living in a small town means that she has to travel to do so.  Having car friends all over the country is the greatest perk of being in the motorsports community.

Speaking of, we would love for you to come meet Sasha in real life and talk drag racing at the upcoming Drivers Festival and Charity Car Show (Sandy Springs, GA October 25, 2025) This is a one of a kind event where racers and track goers of all kinds meet up to celebrate being behind the wheel- all while raising money for the Atlanta Children’s Day Shelter.
