We Talk The Atlanta Car Scene With Tim Crawley

How did you get your start as a car enthusiast?

I’ve been around cool vehicles all my life. My grandfather owned a sanitation company and I got to ride around in these big Mack dump trucks with him, my dad, uncles and cousins.

Later on, my inspiration was the vehicles of family and friends. Our family friend had a Plymouth Satellite, my neighbor a Pontiac Trans-Am and another neighbor even did demolition derby. My cousin owned a Dodge Viper, my dad a Ford Ranchero, my cousin a Roadrunner Super Bee. Even my grandma had a cool car, a Mercedes Benz. I come from a long line of car enthusiasts, it was literally in my family and my upbringing.

Tell us about CrawleyATL

It was inspired by Ken Block, Travis Pastrana, Tony Hawk, Bubba Stewart, Rickey Gadson, Top Gear, Best of Motoring and all the racing games I’ve played over my life. I want to create movies, cartoons, books, art based on on my perspectives…that’s what CrawleyATL is to me. My way of my perspective of the world with everyone else.

If you could change anything about the Atlanta car scene, what would it be?

I would change how we organize. There would be a Google calendar allowing everyone to post so we can better plan which events to go to. Also, if we could gather without excessive revving, a few revs fine but just banging off the limiter for minutes at a time is rude.
