SCCA National Championship Runoffs To Return To Road Atlanta
The SCCA (Sports Car Club of America) National Championship Runoffs will be returning to Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta ad Atlanta for the 2027 and 2028 seasons, kicking off with the 2027 Runoffs at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta is scheduled for Oct. 17-23.
The SCCA National Championship Runoffs are the NFL or college football playoffs of SCCA road racing. the iconic event has been hosted in recent years at Road American in Wisconsin, including this years edition in 2026. The event is a nearly week long affair over multiple weekends.
Since its inception in 1964, the SCCA Runoffs has stood as the defining moment for SCCA road racers across the country, and in many cases, the world. Each year, top competitors within the Summit Racing Equipment SCCA Road Racing series earn the right to compete at the Runoffs, racing for the coveted title of National Champion.
The event called Road Atlanta home for over 2 decades, so this is more than just a nice to have it our backyard. It’s a return to it’s iconic home for such a long time.
While SCCA has continued to race at Road Atlanta through the years, this will very much be a homecoming for the Club, as the last time the Runoffs was hosted there was 1993. To put that into perspective, when the Runoffs was last at Road Atlanta, the Turn 10a and 10b complex didn’t exist, and 20% of our licensed drivers weren’t even born. – SCCA’s Vice President of Road Racing Eric Prill
