While the article references no official comment from the car show operator, he did post in the following in Car Community Connection in response to the article:

UPDATE: The following post and all reference to G-Man or Gerardo appear to have been removed from Car Community Connections Facebook group.

We recommend reading the article for more details on the alleged promises and contracts between the organizations. We have not had any direct contact with either party, we did publicly offer to accept a statement or comment.

Editors Note: We’ve elected not to “cover” the allegations specifically, but rather simply that the article exists and that in and of itself is news. Clearly there is a serious legal situation happening and we feel this is beyond the casual reporting we do here at ShiftAtlanta.

However, ShiftAtlanta in general feels regardless of the facts in the case, or if they are true, as an operator as well of a charity car show that the appearance that shows that are done in the name of charity that funds could be misused or the good will of the community taken advantage of is not a good look for the community as a whole. Just as street racing and takeovers can reflect negative on the car scene, even if nobody from our community participates in them, this has the potential to reflect poorly on all events.

Our plan is to update this article with additional statements or information as they are available.
